I don't think exploding airbags is a good idea. Looking over the list of vehicles, I see Ford, Subaru, BMW, Mazda, Nissan, Chrysler ... almost every major company. Such a huge tragedy is almost across the board - but why? Is it because everyone outsourced their airbags? Great job.
Meanwhile, at Volvo, they use no Takata airbags. Once again making sure one of the most important parts of saving your life isn't left in the hands of another company.
