Defining Leadership

Leadership is about a great deal of many things, but one thing it's not - is cowering in the face of adversity.

But that is what this President, unfortunately, when we need him most, does.

I watched this week, as a man who had the audacity to get up in front of the nation, and make proclamations before bodies had even been counted.  His cold political calculations bare for all to see.

He angerly demanded something that is not his right - to infringe on our Constitutional Rights to protect ourselves. The so called experts in the media are wrong - Obama isn't going around Congress, he's going around the Constitution.  Congress doesn't have the ability to take away our rights any more than the President.  If they want to do such a thing, they need to amend the Constitution.

It's up to We The People to stand up and lead if others won't.

That is why I was encouraged to see the strong turn out against the President as he arrived.

It's not disrespectful to show your feelings to a President who doesn't respect his own office - including it's limitations - and the people he's supposed to represent.  So I applaud those that did - those who stood up, and raised the banners in protest of a lawless President.

It's no surprise, with such a strong response, that he had to scurry around protesters that waited for him.  He didn't have the guts to take the reaction - the angry shouts and glares.  The civil disobedience of those wearing their weapons on hand.  Instead, he took the side streets, avoiding the mobs heated greeting.

Sadly, a man like that, in charge of the World's largest military is no joke. The situation in Syria has only spiraled out of control more and more thanks to the lack of leadership from Obama. Putin taking over in Syria has finally started to open some liberal eyes onto the realities at hand:

President Obama, with all due respect, YOU are running your economy into the ground. It seems like every day, YOUR EPA puts out crushing regulations that strangle business! You've crushed our coal industry, and done everything in your power to raise energy costs - costs that directly affect the lives of every American.  Often, those who are the poorest, and live in the most destitute situations are hurt the most by these. It's only because of American ingenuity and stickitivity that has allowed us to endeavor your terrible ideological edicts.

The other point is just as silly - Assad isn't Russia's only ally in the region.  Russia also has Iran, which is something that the President should be up to date upon.

The recent visit between Suleimani and Russian President Vladimir Putin indicates that weapons deals could be in the works between the two countries. Russia announced earlier this year that it would provide Iran with the advanced S-300 air defense missile system, which could be used to protect Iran’s nuclear infrastructure from an Israeli or U.S. airstrike.

So, frankly, that is an outright lie by the President, and it's rather easy to spot, particularly with Iranian forces now helping out in Syria (about 7000 strong by some reports).

Meanwhile, Obama is increasing isolating our allies.  Where we once had "moderate groups" to arm,, we now have just the Kurds.  Who, I'm glad they would still consider us as allies - considering how much of a mess we made in Kobane.   It looks like soon, we will be the one having to send troops in, in order to prop up our only ally.

So while Kroft may, or may not have a different definition of leadership, one thing is certain - Obama by his own definition, doesn't have it.
